Eligibility

Ryan White Program Part A and Minority AIDS Initiative (MAI) services are available to individuals living with HIV or AIDS.

To be eligible for services, you must be:

  1. HIV positive or have AIDS;
  2. Meet financial eligibility requirements; and
  3. Currently live in and be a permanent resident of Miami-Dade County.

  • Medical Case Management, including Treatment Adherence Services
  • Oral Health Care
  • Outpatient/Ambulatory Health Services
  • AIDS Pharmaceutical Assistance
  • Health Insurance Premium and Cost Sharing For Low-Income Individuals
  • Mental Health Services
  • Food Bank
  • Substance Abuse Outpatient Care
  • Outreach Services
  • Medical Transportation
  • Substance Abuse Services (Residential)
  • Emergency Financial Assistance
  • Other Professional Services (Legal Services and Permanency Planning)

Social Security Disability

How to Qualify for Social Security Disability With HIV/AIDS If you have a medical condition, such as HIV or AIDS, that keeps you from working, you may qualify for Social Security Disability benefits. The Social Security Administration (SSA) oversees two disability programs that provide monthly benefits to those who are disabled or have a serious and can no longer work full time. The SSA uses a medical guide, which is called the Blue Book, to determine eligibility. The Blue Book has a listing that applies to HIV/AIDS. To be approve with that listing, you must meet the specific criteria.
