An introduction to the Ryan White Program including the Service Delivery Guidelines and Medical Case Management Standards of Care are reviewed during the Basic Trainings. Medical Case Managers and Peer Educators entering the Ryan White Program will receive an overview of the basic/core training elements for medical case management, the basics of HIV, community-wide service system and community resources.

Medical Case Management Supervisor Training

The Medical Case Management (MCM) Supervisor training is held quarterly during the fiscal year (May, August, November, February) for program managers, supervisors, and lead medical case managers. The trainings cover topics critical to developing effective management skills such as performance management, motivation, team development, interpersonal and communication skills, supervisory skills training and time management skills – everything you need to manage people effectively. The trainings also address the Ryan White Program Service Delivery Guidelines and Standards of Care for medical case management.

Human trafficking is a situation in which an individual is compelled to work or engage in commercial sex through the use of force, fraud or coercion. If the individual is under the age of 18 and engaging in commercial sex they are experiencing trafficking regardless of whether force, fraud, or coercion is also taking place.

Miami-Dade County Office of Management and Budget

Prescription Drug Formularies and Patient Assistant Programs

 

Ryan White Program Prescription Drug Services
Prescription Drug Formulary

Medications are available to improve the health of persons living with HIV by gaining access to life-sustaining medications.

This service is available to persons ineligible to receive medications under any other source, including but not limited to Medicare, Medicaid, the State AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), private insurance, etc.

Only medications included in the most current Ryan White Program Prescription Drug Formulary can be accessed through the Ryan White Program.

AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Formulary
The ADAP Drug Formulary is a listing of all medications that are covered by the program for all eligible clients, whether insured or uninsured. If a medication is not listed on the drug formulary, then the insurance or assistance program will not cover the medication costs.

  • Test and Treat / Rapid Access (TTRA) Rapid access to HIV treatment after an individual is diagnosed is critical. Linkage to a long-term provider should occur no later than 30 days after diagnosis but ideally will happen within seven days. Click here* for the Florida Department of Health in Miami Dade County (FDOH) Health Department Formulary – HIV Prevention and Rapid Access to Treatment and medications supported through the FDOH Issuance Program for County Health Departments. As a payor of last resort, we encourage providers to utilize pharmaceutical samples when possible.

This information is provided to assist Ryan White Program clients and Medical Case Managers in accessing medications available through PAPs.

  • Publix Pharmacy* Free Medication Program (High Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Antibiotics)
  • Wal-Mart Pharmacy* $4 Prescriptions (Cholesterol, Diabetes, Digestion, Family Planning, Heart Health & Blood Pressure, Mental Health, Thyroid, Vitamins & Nutrition)

The current Ryan White Part A/MAI Service Delivery Manual and standards are available on the Miami-Dade County Office of Management and Budget-Grants Coordination (OMB) website*.

Southeast AIDS Education & Training Center

 

The Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) is one of eight regional AETCs across the country. Encompassing Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, the SE AETC offers comprehensive, collaborative educational opportunities designed to increase the size and strength of the HIV clinical workforce, improve outcomes along the HIV Care Continuum, and reduce the number of new HIV infections.
