  • Shape an Inclusive Miami Urban Health Partnerships City of Miami LGBTQIA+ Community Survey – The City of Miami is working to become a place where LGBTQIA+ people can live, work, and thrive. The purpose of this survey is to understand the perspectives and needs of the City’s LGBTQIA+ residents. The results from this survey will be used to inform the City’s LGBTQIA+ Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) Accelerator Plan. Click here to take the survey*
  • A Proclamation on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex Pride Month, 2023 | The White House* In June 1969, a courageous group of Americans rose up to protest the violence and marginalization they faced in what became known as the Stonewall Uprising. Police had raided the Stonewall Inn — a gay bar located in New York City — and for the next six days they clashed with LGBTQI+ protestors, who bravely stood their ground. Their courage sparked a civil rights movement for the liberation of the LGBTQI+ community and changed our Nation forever. . .
  • What’s the State of LGBTQ Health in 2023?* National Coalition for LGBTQ Health Survey. June 16, 2023 deadline! We encourage all providers who work primarily with LGBTQ clients/patients to take the survey. If you provide HIV care in addition to LGBTQ care, you will be automatically connected to our State of HIV Care™ National Survey, which we are conducting simultaneously. This will minimally impact the total length of your survey, as you will not have to repeat any questions! All individual responses are kept confidential and data will be reported in aggregate. Thank you for your commitment to improving LGBTQ care.
  • The PRIDE Study. Your Story. Your Health* The PRIDE Study is supported by the community engagement efforts of PRIDEnet, a national network of individuals and organizations that engage LGBTQ+ people in health research. The main question we want to answer is: how does being LGBTQ+ influence physical, mental, or social health?
  • Get Healthy and Ready for Summer 2023* (CDC.gov) The warmer months are full of events that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Preparing for this season is a great opportunity to make sure that you stay healthy before, during, and after these celebrations: Know Before You Go; Stay Up to Date on Your Sexual Health Care; Stay Up to Date on COVID-19; Stop Overdose.
  • The Importance of Trans Visibility* (nmac.org blogpost) Each year on March 31, the world observes Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV) to raise awareness about transgender people. It is a day to celebrate the lives and contributions of trans people, while also drawing attention to the poverty, discrimination, and violence the community faces.
  • NIAID comprehensive transgender training curriculum* developed by a group of transgender, gender nonbinary, and cisgender researchers and subject matter experts. The modules include:
    • An Introduction to Transgender Communities

  • The U.S. Trans Survey (USTS)* Message from [email protected]We did it! As of 12/5, the U.S. Trans Survey has now closed, and the results have been truly historic. With the tens of thousands of you in our vibrant trans community have taken the survey, we have made this dataset the largest dataset of trans people in U.S. history! Right now, our team of researchers is examining the data, and we plan to have reports that inform our community by the end of 2023.
  • #NHASeverywhere: Activate and Elevate – Transgender Justice Initiative* (HIV.gov, December 12, 2022) The HRC Foundation’s Transgender Justice Initiative (TJI) addresses the urgent needs of the trans community. Through leading community engagement efforts, capacity-building initiatives, economic empowerment programs, and public safety education campaigns, TJI works to combat the discrimination faced by trans people, while addressing the root causes of the physical danger and transphobia faced by the members of the trans community. The four key pillars of TJI are public safety, capacity building, strategic communications, and economic empowerment. Capacity building is at the core of two fellowship programs offered by the HRC Foundation—Activate and Elevate—as both are designed to help advance the leadership skills of Black, Hispanic, and Latino/Latina trans people.
  • Dear Colleague Letter: Gender-Affirming Care in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program*  (hab.hrs.gov) Transgender people with HIV are a priority for HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB). While viral suppression rates among transgender clients receiving medical care in the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) are higher than the national non-RHWAP average, we understand that the transgender community faces unique barriers in HIV care. . .
  • Positive Action for Latinx Men  Responding to the urgency of the epidemic and direct community requests, ViiV Healthcare launched a series of seed grants in 2018 to provide support to the community.
